Dating apps are now mainstream, especially among the young, with a quarter of American to year-olds reporting having used a dating app at some point. But what motivates us to look for love on a dating app? The hacking of Ashley Madison, a dating website aimed at people seeking an affair, revealed that the number of female users was minuscule: Ashley Madison is hardly Tinder or Bumble, but is there a short-term and stereotypically male strategy that drives dating app use?

I’m 23f living in Trondheim and moved here after I graduated from uni in the UK over a year ago. At first I did the usual, go out to bars, try and join different societies, classes, I even did a lot of online dating in an attempt to meet people. But the people I met just weren’t interested in getting any more friends! I took some dance classes for a while but the people there were mostly in their 40s

The anonymous Ballad of Bosworth Field says that “in Newarke laid was hee, that many a one might looke on him” —almost certainly a reference to the collegiate Church of the Annunciation of Our Lady of the Newarke , a Lancastrian foundation on the outskirts of medieval Leicester. In , ten years after the burial, Henry VII paid for a marble and alabaster monument to mark Richard’s grave.
The site of the friary was sold to two Lincolnshire property speculators and was later acquired by Robert Herrick, the Mayor of Leicester and eventual uncle of the poet Robert Herrick. The Lord Mayor Herrick built a mansion close to Friary Lane, on a site now buried under the modern Grey Friars Street, and turned the rest of the land into gardens.
The antiquary Christopher Wren father of Christopher Wren the architect recorded that Herrick erected a monument on the site of the grave in the form of a stone pillar three feet 1 m high carved with the words, “Here lies the Body of Richard III, Some Time King of England. If Speed had been to Herrick’s property he would surely have seen the commemorative pillar and gardens, but instead he reported that the site was “overgrown with nettles and weeds” and there was no trace of Richard’s grave.
Trondheim is a large city by Norwegian standards, but has managed to preserve much of the intimacy and charm of a small town. It is also a city full of contrasts, with its medieval cathedral, colourful wharves and beautiful red-painted wooden bridge dating back to on one hand, and its modern sports facilities, world-renowned education and research community, and lively nightlife on the other.
September 20, The boat was at least 13 feet 4 meters long and was buried in the ground in a roughly north-south direction, according to archaeologists from the Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage NIKU. It’s not clear why the boat was oriented in a north-south direction. Though the wood from the boat wasn’t intact, the archaeologists found nails and lumps of rust that allowed them to confirm that the buried object was, in fact, a boat, NIKU archaeologist Ian Reed said in a statement.
They also found two long bones in the boat. Since the bones were not well preserved, the scientists will run DNA tests to confirm that the remains are human.

Filed under Pagadian City The Philippines, being a country archipelago of islands and seas, have naturally wonderful beaches, some of which are famous the world over. Beaches like Puerto Galera, Boracay, and the various beaches in Cebu rake in tourists from around the world all year round because of their pristine and cool blue waters and fine, white-sand shores. However, if one will just look around more, they will find that there are other less-known but equally beautiful beach spots in other parts of the Philippines.
In Pagadian, in particular, there are beaches and islands that will make one believe that there is such a thing as a secluded paradise on Earth. A nice place to start would be the Dao-Dao Islands some seven to ten minutes away from the seaport, when riding a motorboat. It is a rather big island, with an area size of about 1. The coral reefs are artificially made, but the whole place is very much ideal for swimming, fishing, and boating.
During low tides, a smaller, more undeveloped island appears and like the rest, is also suitable for fishing and swimming. There is also the White Beach that, as its name suggests, is a stretch of white sand beach just minutes southeast of the seaport. Again, it can be reached via motorboat. The clear, deep, blue waters even during low tides are excellent for swimming and diving. The Bomba Beach, located in barangay Bomba some 2 kilometers away from the city, is also a good area for swimming and fishing, with a bomba bridge and natural coral reefs.
The Muricay Beach is located further away, at 4 kilometers, but the white sands and clear seas more than make up for the distance.
